Because, um, you've been acting kinda strange lately.
TikTok did, in fact, go dark, from 6:30 pm PST on Saturday to 10:00 AM PST on Sunday, for less than 24 hours. Here are the exit and welcome messages. You can interpret these little weird shits how you will. In my opinion, this is political theater, pure and simple.

It is not “fortunate” that President Trump is working on bringing TikTok back, and it is not a “result of President Trump’s efforts” that it is back. It was all pre-planned. We are simply pawns in this game, and I am repulsed. I’m pretty sure Trump was the one who wanted to ban TikTok in the first place, and now he’s some kind of tech bro savior? No, thanks.
